Ruben Escalante-Hasbun has extensive experience in working in international relations, diplomacy, human rights, sustainable development and humanitarian affairs, both from a civil society and governmental perspectives for 15 years.
He served as a diplomat for El Salvador both in the UN headquarters in New York and Geneva, ranging from expert in charge of diverse portfolios (human rights and social issues in New York, as well as humanitarian affairs and crisis situations in Geneva), and as Deputy Permanent Representative and as Permanent Representative in New York.
