About this Event

As countries continue to invest in roads, railways, ports and waterways, ensuring that infrastructure expansion contributes to both development and biodiversity objectives, delivering both economic benefits and positive outcomes, has become an urgent priority.

This roundtable, hosted by the Geneva Environment Network, will bring together experts from various organizations to explore emerging approaches, challenges, and opportunities for integrating biodiversity considerations throughout the transportation infrastructure lifecycle. Drawing on experiences from the GEF-funded Greening Transportation Infrastructure Development (GRID) Integrated Program, which supports the global transition toward transportation systems that safeguard, conserve, and restore critical coastal, marine, and terrestrial ecosystems, the discussion will explore practical pathways towards.
