About this Event

This meeting will explore the concept of “global water bankruptcy” and its implications for cooperation and peace, drawing on the recent flagship report Global Water Bankruptcy: Living Beyond Our Hydrological Means in the Post-Crisis Era published by the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH).

The discussion will introduce Concept Note 22nd Meeting of the Group of Friends on Water and Peace and examine how increasing water stress and ecosystem degradation may affect governance, stability, and international cooperation.

The meeting will feature a presentation by Prof. Kaveh Madani, Director of UNU-INWEH and lead author of the report.
