Established in 1985, the Sikh Human Rights Group (SHRG) is an NGO with UN ECOSOC Consultative Status promoting pluralism, environment, diversity, human rights and responsibilities. It is based on Sikh philosophy. With emphasis on pluralism SHRG champions good intentions and diverse approaches in different civilizations, cultures and Peoples.
Originally focused on human rights in Punjab, India, the group expanded its scope after 1993 to include global human rights, sustainable development, environmental protection, and conflict resolution. The organization works globally, with affiliates in countries including Canada, USA, India, Brazil, South Africa, Spain, and Thailand
